Acknowledgment of Indigenous Territories
At EH!, we recognize that the land we live, work, and connect on is the traditional, unceded, and treaty territory of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.
As we build a platform rooted in local identity and belonging, we are committed to respectfully including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis territories as part of our app experience. This includes recognizing Indigenous place names, histories, and present-day communities within the design and structure of EH!.
We understand this work requires care, humility, and active listening - and we welcome feedback from Indigenous users and communities as we continue this journey. If you have thoughts, corrections, or suggestions, please reach out to us directly at hello@ehnow.ca.
Building a more connected Canada means honouring the communities who have been here since time immemorial.
Miigwetch. Merci. Thank you.
What is Turtle Island?
Turtle Island is the name many Indigenous peoples use to describe what we now call North America — including Canada.
It comes from Indigenous creation stories where the land was formed on the back of a giant turtle. For many nations, Turtle Island represents a deep connection to the land, community, and balance.
At EH!, we use this name as a sign of respect and recognition. We’re committed to honouring the Indigenous peoples who have cared for these lands since long before Canada existed.
