Facebook – Download Only Photos/Videos

  1. Open Facebook (app or web).

  2. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download Your Information.

  3. Under Select Information, deselect everything except Photos and Videos.

  4. Choose:

• Date Range (All time or custom).
• Format (HTML is easiest to browse; JSON is for importing elsewhere).
• Media Quality (pick High for full-res photos/videos).

  1. Click Create File.

• You’ll get a notification when it’s ready.

  1. Download the ZIP and extract it → inside you’ll find folders with your photos and videos organized by album.

Instagram – Download Only Photos/Videos

Instagram doesn’t let you select “only photos/videos” when requesting a full download. You’ll get everything (posts, messages, profile info, etc.) in a ZIP file.
But you can still grab just the media in two ways:

Option 1 – Manual Download (per post)

• Open your profile → select a post/photo.
• Tap the three dots (⋯) → Download (if available) or Save to device.
• On Stories or Reels you’ve created, you can also save them directly when viewing.

Option 2 – Use the Data Download, Then Extract Media

  1. Request a data download (as explained earlier).

  2. Once you get the ZIP file:

• Open it → go into the “media” folder.
• You’ll see all your photos and videos there, separated into subfolders (posts, stories, reels, etc.).
